Okay,

About a year ago, one of my best friends since Freshman year of college, Priyanka Deo, asked me if I wanted to dance with her for Diwali. I told her that I doubt that I'd have enough time in my schedule to attempt to learn a dance within a month, unfortunately being Priyanka's friend doesn't come with a choice, our relationship is to the point where if she asks me if I want to do something, I'm doing whether I wanted to or not....I'm okay with that. We danced for Diwali, which is an Indian holiday that is equivalent to the Christmas Holidays celebrated over here in the United States. We got to dance, and we rocked (as expected) and all of our friends came out to support us. We even got to perform for the 14th International Festival here at UIS, and we got to go on stage. However, what ticked me off the most about the performance was that Pri and the girls got to dance with smoke and fog, I wanted to dance with smoke and fog....it's just not fair I tell ya! Anyways, 2008 we auditioned for the 15th Annual International Festival, we we got a new set of people to work with us, and I just want to say that it was such an incredible experience to learn this dance. We performed about 3 times, I felt like a show girl at the Vu, however, it was soooo much fun, all of our friends came out to support us. I showed the video to my parents, and they won't stop looking at it.

Aside from being the life of the International Festival, they had such an amazing variety of food, it was unfortunate that I could try all of it, and that was because of two things:

1. The Hungarian Meatballs kept calling my name
2. The African Students at the university had us dance with them, and that took about another 2 hours! :)

There was so much going on that day, it was a little bit difficult to try to run to where all the other events were and then run back to make it in time for our dance. I guess it was a great feeling to be apart of something big, and having everyone congratulae us on a job well done. However, I am a little ticked that Prema Babuhead tried to take the spot from me during the drops in our performance. So, I did have some videos of the performance, but...unfortunately, my harddrive crashed :( Until the next post, Thug Life!
